Through out my experiences in the classroom I have found various tools to aid learning outside of the classroom. Here are a few of my favorite websites to use! Some require accounts and passwords while others have free trials or free sections of the website.
Khan Academy
One of my favorite ways to help students learn more outside of the classroom is through Khan Academy. I also created a classroom where students were assigned tasks that would help them in content areas we were working on in the classroom. I used this as a way students could also earn bonuses in the classroom as they spent time completing the skills at home. I love the instruction students can see through the videos and the steps to completing problems. Click on title "Khan Academy" to go to the seventh grade material.
MathTV.Com
This website allows students to choose what topic they want to focus on to study or get extra practice in. This is a great way to watch instructors teach the concept that needs to be practiced! Click the title "MathTV.com" to go to the website.
Reflex Math
This website allows students to practice their math facts with various games. They begin with addition and subtraction from 0-10 then move to 0-12 before moving onto multiplication and division. The games require the students to solve math facts quickly in order to move onto the next level and gain points. Students also use money skills when buying things for their tree (something they can decorate by earning points) and for pieces of clothing for their avatar. An account is required. Click "Reflex Math" at the top to go to the website.

Moby Max
This website places students in appropriate practices based upon their grade level. Students work on math, literacy, science, and social study skills. Students begin by taking a placement test in each subject available then earn badges as they complete lessons. Students will also earn game time while playing and completing lessons. Free accounts are available. Click on "Moby Max" to go to the website.

BrainPOP
BrainPOP allows students to browse through videos, quizzes, and games under English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art and Music, Health, and Engineering and Technology. Each subject area has topics ranging in lessons for younger elementary to upper elementary. Many topics are 3-5 appropriate but also contain some content taught in 2nd grade. Students learn from Tim and Moby through letters written to the duo and exploring the response to the letter. Accounts are needed for some content but not all. Click "BrainPOP" to go to the website.

BrainPOP Jr.
BrainPOP Jr. is set up very similar to BrainPOP with the content being geared towards younger grade levels. Students browse through videos, quizzes, and activities for Math, Reading and Writing, Science, Health, Social Studies, and Art and Technology. Students learn from Annie and Moby about various topics under each core subject. This website has a connecting account with BrainPop but also has free content. Discovery Education
Discovery Education is filled with digital textbooks, videos, images, and powerpoints for many different topics. I typically use this resource for science and social studies tools. It is a great way to engage students and encourages them to partake in different forms of technology for learning. There are short clips to introduce a new topic, as well as complete shows of Bill Nye and Magic School Bus. The content ranges from K-12 and filters can be applied for the desired content. This site does require an account. Click on "Discovery Education" to go to the website.

MyOn
MyOn is a website filled with books for children to read or be read to. Students log in and take an interest inventory and a reading level quiz. The interest inventory and reading level quiz results then provide students with an entire library of books geared towards their interests. This provides engaging books for students to practice reading. They can highlight parts of the text as well as be assigned questions to answer along with a text. Students are also able to take quizzes on the books they read. The library changes after so many books are read and a new reading level assessment is taken. This is a great tool for any level reader! This website does require an account. Please click on "Myon" to go to the website.

This is very helpful for extra practice at home or extra time in the classroom. You do not have to have an account to use this website! Click "IXL" to go to the website.
